Our Ward Halloween Party!!!

So for Halloween this year I decided to have a family theme and we were a family of M&M's. Curtis is the peanut M&M, I was the plain M&M and Vance is a mini M&M. I made mine and Curtis' costumes but I didn't make Vance's. It was my first sewing project and let me tell all those women out there that are new at sewing, Satin is not the best thing to begin with. We had a great time at the party and we were one of the few couples that dressed up with our son. We were glad that we did it though. We won best couple it tights. But I think it was just my boys that looked great it those tights.
Vance may be a mini M&M but don't forget he is a tough little boy and he has muscles.
Here we are at the party. I have some funny eyelashes on so it looks a little weird. We should have sat down for the picture but Curtis was having difficulty sitting in his costume. HEHEHEH!!!

Here is Vance in the Cutest Pre-nursery child contest. He was so cute.
I don't know what he was trying to share with us but he sure is cute.
My Peanut man!!! Pretty good huh? I don't know if you can really see it but he is wearing a bow tie which I made too.
Vance just wanted to stand by whoever was standing but he apparently didn't want his picture taken.
Here is my costume. I even made the bow!!! Sexy little green M&M, note the shoes below.
And here I am with my sweet boy. What a doll.

Vance

We went with Vania and Demiah to a store called Stuff to find Vance's Halloween costume and Demiah took him to go show him the toys and this is what they found when they came back. Pretty cute.
Ok so we also went and watched the movie Hairspray with the girls and Vance loved it because it had so much music but this picture is of him eating his popcorn. He wouldn't even turn away from the screen he would just reach his hand over, grab some popcorn and stick it in his mouth. It was hilarious. Vania and I were trying really hard not to get kicked out of the theater because we were laughing so hard.
Cheese!!!
I WANT MY MULLET BACK!!!

Yes my son has a mullet when his hair is wet but it is so cute and curly when it is dry that I just can't cut his hair.

Here is the cute outfit that Aunt Nana bought Vance. He loves it and he looks so cute.
So note the corner.... every night I make the toys look all nice and organized and this is what it looks like at 10 every morning. But the reason I took this picture is because he has both his feet on top of his car and he was just leaning back chilling. It was so cute. He is showing me his dinosaur. I LOVE THIS KID!!!
Demiah had her 10th birthday party at the ice skating rink and she decided to put a bow in Vances hair. He wasn't too happy about it but he did pretty good considering.
Here is Vance playing with a fun twirling toy. He loves this thing.
I couldn't hardly keep Vance from going and running onto the ice. So here he is trying to make a break for it. He did pretty good once he got on there but I wouldn't let him go too far.

WELCOME PARTY!!!!

We had a welcome party/baby shower for one of Curtis's classmates family that moved here from Colorado this month. Adrian is the one who's family came and his little year old daughter Izzie and Vance just had a ball. Sophie is the baby girl that we were celebrating but somehow we didn't get a single picture of here. She was adorable though. It was a great break for all the guys and we just really had a great time.

Jenni freehanded this Hawkeye and the banner. She is very talented.
It took Izzie a little while to warm up to Vance but eventually......
they were getting REALLY close!!!!
Here are the classmates that came and some of their spouses. Everyone having a great time?

Here are the kids playing with the balloons. Those balloons kept them very entertained.

ASU!!!!

I just wanted to post a little note about Curtis's Alma Matar ASU. This week they are ranked #7 in the nation, they should be higher but we all know how unfair it is. They have a 7-0 record. They are doing awesome. Keep your fingers crossed for them to win their remaining games so that ASU can finally get the recognition they deserve. GO DEVILS!!! I thought my Curtis would be proud of me for posting this. Hope you all enjoy your day!!!

Vance

Here is everyone's favorite part I am sure. Here are some pictures of Vance being Vance and a few pictures with us in them. Enjoy

We decided to go to a Kernel's game which is the minor league baseball team from Cedar Rapids. It was really fun and we got some really fun metal lunchboxes so that made it even better. Vance wanted Curtis's soda so he kept looking down.
What is in your mouth? Who knows.
Go Kernel's. He just loves sports, like father like son!!!!
What is over there? It is another seat well what do you know.
This is Liz, she is in Curtis's program with him. She is awesome. Vance is playing with some fun sunglasses. He loves sunglasses.
Some of the sisters in our ward got together and we all went to this petting zoo at a local dairy in Iowa City. It was a hot day but we had a great time and Vance loved the animals. There are some geese behind him.
He wasn't sure about the baby goat but he got sort of close to it.
There were donkeys right in front of him and he is looking the other way at who knows what, but he sure is cute.
Vance's hair is so fun in the tub and so we wanted to take some pictures of it so everyone could see. He is posing in this picture so that made it even better.
CHEESE, curly top!!
Curtis's Uncle Ron came into town and we went out to dinner with him. It was great to see some family and Curtis and Uncle Ron had a lot to talk about so it was really fun.
We saw a sign for a pumkin patch on the side of the road so we decided it would make a great "Between sessions" trip so we went and I took these pictures of the boys. It was a beautiful day and the pumpkins were really great.

Cross Country

So, I am sorry that it has taken so long to update our blog but we spent about 3 weeks in Arizona and traveling across the country and so I couldn't update it for a while. We had a great trip with my mom and we were so glad that we got to spend so much time with her and with Mike and Janette. We love you all so much and thank you for letting be there with you guys. It was a really hard decision for you I am sure!! NOT!!! Vance loved you all and we hope to spend more time with you soon.
Here is my Great Grandma Gay. She is the reason that we took this trip to Arizona and we are so glad that we went and saw her. She just loved Vance. It was great to see her.
Vance and Grandma sharing sucker time.
I can't talk now there is a sucker that needs some attention.
Vance and Aunt Amie playing the piano. He got so protective when it came to sitting at the piano and playing it. He even threw himself on the keys so that Aunt Amie couln't play. Uh oh what does that mean?
What? I have something on my face? I wonder what it could be.
AH HA!!! That is what it was.
An atempt to wipe away the evidence.
Here is a picture that has five generations. It goes Vance, Me, Grandma Bryant, Great Grandma Holladay, and Great Great Grandma Gay. It may not be the right five generations but there it is.
Vance and his Aunt Nana. There's no one like Aunt Nana.
Vance just wanted a kiss but it looks like Kelsie wanted to bite his nose. This was just so cute they just love each other.
Hurray for football. This is great.
Kelsie says "Wow that is a big balloon" and Vance says "Yeah!"
Vance keeping one eye on the game while Kelsie is watching that balloon.
He is kissing me!!!
Static electricity.
We were going elk bugling and Vance just loved the bugle. He was pretty good at it too. When we were out with the spot light and Amie blew in the bugle Vance would copy the sound without the bugle and it was just so funny.

We went to visit my cousin Keisha and her son Cannon who is a month older than Vance and they just had a good time playing around.

I SCREAM YOU SCREAM WE ALL SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!!! We had to get Vance his first DQ ice cream cone from Aunt Terri so here is the documentation.

MMMMMMMMMMM!!! This is great.
Life is gooooooood.
Are you looking at my Cone? Bring it on punk!!!
Vance loved Curtis's fishing pole and kept finding it even when I hid it. He is a natural. Are you proud Uncle Merrill?

Here we are at the Show Low football game.

At the Show Low football game Coach Jack Tengyel, from Marshall University and the movie We are Marshall, came and so we just had to take a picture for Curtis.
Vance loved to climb the stairs at Grandma and Grandpa Birdnos house but he couldn't get down off the stairs so I came in to help him and I saw him just laying on the step yelling for me and I just had to take a quick picture of it.
Curtis had a dinosaur called little foot when he was a boy and Janette gave him to me to let Vance have him and I was trying to use him to cheer Vance up and he did love him but it these pictures it doesn't look like it.

Ok these firs two pictures are at the beginning of our trip from Kentucky and how big the push pop was. Vance just thought he was in heaven. HEY you would use it too if you had to drive for 25 hours!!!!

These pictures are from the ride home. He just lit up when I gave him this sucker. It was great.

I like to call this group of photos I LOVE CHEETOS!!!!!!! It is self explanitory.

Thank you Grandma for the DVD player. I am so happy.
