The Ice Storms

Santa Clause

We had our Ward Christmas party on Saturday and it was a beautiful party. My cute boys had a ball. Curtis was given the opportunity to be Santa's helper this year. He was a little shy at first but "warmed" up to it rather quickly. It was so hot on the stage but he hung in there and sat with each one of the kids and even a missionary. What a trooper. He will be sure to deliver the wishes of the children to Santa Clause. Vance somehow knew that it was Curtis and kept yelling Daddy, Daddy so I was trying not to give it away to some of the older kids in line. I could not keep him from running and jumping on "Santa's" lap and I couldn't keep him off the stage. It was hilarious.

Our Santa Clause
WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Look at this pose.
Merry Christmas!
Me trying to distract Vance so he would stop yelling for Daddy while we were waiting in line to see Santa Clause.
He made it by running across the stage and the whole room roared with laughter because it was just so cute.
Our second trip to see Santa.
I wanted my picture with Santa also so here we are. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Silly Boy!

So recently our lives have been filled with a little mischief. Vance has discovered the art of climbing in drawers, sitting in cupboards, climbing over the back of the couch and onto the counter, and pulling clothes out of his drawers and wrapping them around him and walking around the house. He is constantly on the move and it takes all that I have to keep up with the things that he is doing. Just when I think I have cleaned up something he has pulled something else out from somewhere else. I am on the brink of losing my mind, and I know that if he wasn't so cute I just might. But how can you get mad at a face like the one in the last picture. This is what I have to deal with ladies and gentlemen.

This is just self explanitory.
He just loves holding his clothes over his shoulders, or shoes, or whatever he can hang over him.
More clothes out of his drawers and note the shoes strewn about.
Our elf in the cupboard.
Daddy's shorts with his head through the leg. He just loves lugging things around this way.
The day he got on the counter I was cleaning the bathroom and here he was when I came out. No he couldn't get into the prescriptions but man he loves to pull things out of everywhere.

LOOK AT HIS FACE OF REMORSE!!! WHATEVER!!!!

BOYS!!!

Okay so maybe it isn't just boys maybe it is just kids in general but I only have a boy so that is what I am blaming it on. So Vance is getting in that stage where he is just all over the place but most recently there has been something strange. We have been having snow and freezing rain for the past few weeks and so it has been pretty slick outside. So this weekend we caught Vance chewing on the bottom of Curtis' shoe and we both just couldn't understand why he kept doing it until Curtis saw what he was chewing on..... SALT!! Yes that is right salt, he was licking the salt that they put on the sidewalks to melt the sidewalks off the bottom of our shoes. OH MAN!! It was so funny but gross at the same time. He is so much fun and everyday is a new experience. Just thought I would share that story with you all. Love ya!!!

Check out my Slide Show!

Our Thanksgiving Vacation

We had the opportunity to go to North and South Carolina for our Thanksgiving vacation. Curtis' brother Merrill and his wife Cami and their family live in Durham NC. It was a great time. We went down to Charleston SC and just drove around and walked around the outdoor market. There is a lot of history there. It was a beautiful city. Then we met the family in Myrtle Beach and spent the remainder of the week there at a resort and on the beach. I never thought I would spend my Thanksgiving at the beach with 80 degree weather but it was gorgeous. It was so nice to see everyone. We miss you all so much and are so thankful that we got to spend that time with you. Thank you Merrill and Cami for letting stay in your house and thank you to Jeremy and Amie for setting up for us to stay at the resort. And of course thank you to Mike and Janette for everything you did for all of us. It was a truly memorable Thanksgiving. We love you all!!!!

Pumpkin Carving

As if everyone couldn't already guess what Curtis was going to carve into his pumpkin but here is proof. He did a Sundevil and I did a Trick or Treat one. It was really fun carving pumpkins. It was our Family Home Evening this week. Funny story, while we were outside carving our pumpkins there were a ton of Ladybugs flying around our deck. So I was pulling seeds and stuff out of my pumpkin when I hear Curtis say "No Vance spit it out!" I just said I don't even want to know but I could guess what it was. Yes you guessed it... My son ate a Ladybug!!!! I know all you moms of toddlers out there are laughing because you know all about it but this was my first gross out moment when my son ate a bug. I am sure it won't be the last but I don't think it will get any easier. Well I hope you all enjoyed your Halloween. We love you all!!!

CHEESY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is kind of blurry but you can still tell what it is.
Here is a picture of what it looked like not lit up.
Here they both are up on the porch. When I went out to light them I got attacked by lady bugs and you can't see them but there are a ton on the light parts of our pumpkins. It was a little creepy but I would rather have lady bugs than some other things.
Here they are all lit up. Pretty impressive huh!!!!

Our Ward Halloween Party!!!

So for Halloween this year I decided to have a family theme and we were a family of M&M's. Curtis is the peanut M&M, I was the plain M&M and Vance is a mini M&M. I made mine and Curtis' costumes but I didn't make Vance's. It was my first sewing project and let me tell all those women out there that are new at sewing, Satin is not the best thing to begin with. We had a great time at the party and we were one of the few couples that dressed up with our son. We were glad that we did it though. We won best couple it tights. But I think it was just my boys that looked great it those tights.
Vance may be a mini M&M but don't forget he is a tough little boy and he has muscles.
Here we are at the party. I have some funny eyelashes on so it looks a little weird. We should have sat down for the picture but Curtis was having difficulty sitting in his costume. HEHEHEH!!!

Here is Vance in the Cutest Pre-nursery child contest. He was so cute.
I don't know what he was trying to share with us but he sure is cute.
My Peanut man!!! Pretty good huh? I don't know if you can really see it but he is wearing a bow tie which I made too.
Vance just wanted to stand by whoever was standing but he apparently didn't want his picture taken.
Here is my costume. I even made the bow!!! Sexy little green M&M, note the shoes below.
And here I am with my sweet boy. What a doll.

Vance

We went with Vania and Demiah to a store called Stuff to find Vance's Halloween costume and Demiah took him to go show him the toys and this is what they found when they came back. Pretty cute.
Ok so we also went and watched the movie Hairspray with the girls and Vance loved it because it had so much music but this picture is of him eating his popcorn. He wouldn't even turn away from the screen he would just reach his hand over, grab some popcorn and stick it in his mouth. It was hilarious. Vania and I were trying really hard not to get kicked out of the theater because we were laughing so hard.
Cheese!!!
I WANT MY MULLET BACK!!!

Yes my son has a mullet when his hair is wet but it is so cute and curly when it is dry that I just can't cut his hair.

Here is the cute outfit that Aunt Nana bought Vance. He loves it and he looks so cute.
So note the corner.... every night I make the toys look all nice and organized and this is what it looks like at 10 every morning. But the reason I took this picture is because he has both his feet on top of his car and he was just leaning back chilling. It was so cute. He is showing me his dinosaur. I LOVE THIS KID!!!
Demiah had her 10th birthday party at the ice skating rink and she decided to put a bow in Vances hair. He wasn't too happy about it but he did pretty good considering.
Here is Vance playing with a fun twirling toy. He loves this thing.
I couldn't hardly keep Vance from going and running onto the ice. So here he is trying to make a break for it. He did pretty good once he got on there but I wouldn't let him go too far.
